Long Beach City Councilwoman Anissa Moore for Long Beach City Council President

This petition had 294 supporters

We the undersigned residents of the City of Long Beach are writing this petition in support of Long Beach City Councilwoman Anissa Moore becoming the City Council President.

On January 1, 2016 after the city council inauguration, there was a quick meeting to make a temporary council move to elect a new City Council President and City Council Vice-President.  Based on Councilwoman Anissa Moore receiving the most votes during the November 4, 2015 city council election, she should have been voted in as the City Council President.

As of today, countless residents have spoken out in support of City Councilwoman Anissa Moore becoming the City Council President since January 1, 2016 at the city council meetings.  Residents have been told that a change would happen before the November November 8, 2016 election, but due to the unexpected results of the election, the change of City Council President never took place.

We the residents of The City of Long Beach are asking that the City Council finally gives City Councilwoman Anissa Moore the opportunity to serve our great city as the City Council President!
