Change London High School's Mascot

Change London High School's Mascot
Why this petition matters

With everything going on in the world, I believe that change needs to be made starting in everyone's small town. Finding the racist undertones of the past and asking for change to better the future.
The London City School's team name is "the London Red Raiders," and for the longest time, the logo for the school was a Native American in a large headdress. In recent years, the school board had removed the logo; however, the name and mascot have not changed. There are many schools with logos/names/mascots that do not carry racist undertones, and as an alum of London, I believe change needs to be made.
Some good options could be: London Highlanders, based off the Scottish Highlanders that fought in the Revolutionary War; London Cardinals, based off of the Ohio state bird and Cardinal flower, keeping the red & white team colors; London Bullfrogs, based off of Ohio's state frog. Keeping names based on history or based off of native plants and animals in the Ohio region would be the best alternative to the current issue. Keeping the name "Red Raiders," would be just fine if it was paired with something that's culturally appropriate.
We appreciate any support to make this change happen.
Thank you.
