Build Train Overpasses in London!

Gridlock. The motorists of London, Ontario are all too familiar with the daily headache of sitting in their idling vehicles, waiting for the inevitably slow moving, and seemingly unending, freight trains to pass. With a train yard located just outside the downtown core - and no options for the trapped motorists - the already problematic traffic issue in London is drastically compounded by the countless trains passing through our city every day. Avoidable deaths of both pedestrians and motorists are many, emergency vehicles cut off for more than ten minutes at a time - multiple times per day, constant public transit delays, and the complete halting of an ever growing city's flow of heavy traffic. My question is simply: WHY? With a population approaching the 400 000 mark, why has our city not attempted to address this problem? And why on earth are we spending millions and millions of dollars on a rapid transit system, when our city's biggest infrastructure/transit problem has ALWAYS been the impassable train tracks that cut off almost every major north-south vein? Stop trying to paint a pretty picture City Council, and tackle a real issue in this city. Beautifying parks, reviving Dundas, building futuristic rapid transit rails, and erecting colourful metal trees does not negate the fact that this city has a very real and glaring infrastructure flaw - and you need to fix it.
