Maura Belcher started this petition to London Borough of Waltham Forest

After 7 years of rejected planning permission proposals, Waltham Forest Council has been worn down and approved the construction of two 4-bedroom houses including basements to begin construction in September 2021 until 2023 in land behind Browning Road.

This will have a huge impact on the neighbourhood including the local community.

Access to the land behind Browning Road is through a narrow garage which is located directly across the entrance to the beloved Henry Reynolds Gardens.

Due to logistical constraints, multiple HGVs will be waiting and idling outside the park and on surrounding roads and will enter and reverse down the tiny and narrow Browning Road up to 106 times per month, for 6 days a week Monday to Saturday. There will also be 4 metres of road commandeered permanently on Browning Road for construction vehicles.

Furthermore, all activity must happen outside on the road - this includes concrete mixing, heavy duty and hard core materials deliveries and debris removal adding horrific noise and air pollution to the lethal road safety risks imposed upon our children and vulnerable community.

Cllr. Clyde Loakes has supported the community in speaking against this development.

This decision was not made in the interest of the well-being of our community, children and ecology. Let's tell Waltham Forest Council - Council Leader Grace Williams, Chief Executive Martin Esom, Cabinet Member Simon Miller and Cabinet Member Clyde Loakes to stop this construction NOW.
