Why this petition matters

Started by Sara Dunn

Dear Loma Colorado residents,

We have drafted this letter to send to the HOA board of directors and if you would like to support our cause of preserving the bike park please sign the petition below thanks so much for your support!

On Tuesday, May 4th, residents of Loma Colorado received an email advising that “ several bike and dirt ramps that have been construct[ed] and installed in the common area at the north end of Loma Colorado, by The Neighborhood. The CC&Rs do not permit owners, their dependents, guests, or tenants to make modifications or improvements to the Association common areas without the expressed approval of the Board of Directors.” The email then gave the owner(s) of the bike ramps a three-day notice to remove the ramps.

After much discussion then ensued on our neighborhood Facebook page, parents and residents identified on the attached signature page(s) have decided that they would like to see the ramps remain in place. The location of the ramps in the north corner of Loma Colorado behind the wall of Tres Colinas and the abutting property of The Neighborhood is currently a barren dirt section without landscaping or maintenance. The addition of a bike ramp area is positive for the community in that it allows the children who reside in Loma Colorado a place to ride their bicycles, away from walking paths and roads. These ramps were built by children of the community. They raised all of the money to purchase the lumber themselves and have kept the ramps well-maintained.

Furthermore, it is the belief of these residents that such a bike park increases the livability of the neighborhood. The bike park is actually outside of the neighborhood gate, can only be seen from the outside of the neighborhood, only backs up to two homes in the community and it is barely even visible from the road.

We respectfully request the Boards consideration of this request to allow the bike ramps to remain in place, with the understanding that the area will remain clean and the ramps well-maintained.
