The Wuraga Rd & Tallagandra Rd intersection, Tallagandra & Saratoga St intersection & the Tallagandra & Beaudesert-Beenleigh Rd intersection are a cluster of intersections in Beenleigh (near-bordering Mount Warren Park,) that have been noted & labelled as a high-risk area for many years. The Courier Mail even highlighted the intersections on Jul 24, 2012 saying that “The amount of traffic this intersection has far exceeds the traffic light config and timing.” It was also noted that often vehicles don’t stop at the Wuraga Stop sign “…when lights on (the) cnr Tallagandra Rd and Beaudesert Beenleigh Rd are green.” It is also recognized that current development in the area is increasing and will continue to increase the traffic using this route causing even greater intersection blockage and consequent impatience and irritation which can lead to accidents.

Action Petitioned For:

We the undersigned are concerned citizens who urge our leaders to act now to:

1.      Complete a thorough and transparent risk assessment on the aforementioned cluster of intersections which includes an open forum and door-knocking local residents to gather information from the intersection's frequent users.

2.      Complete a thorough and transparent feasibility study on user provided solutions and improvement ideas.

3.      Follow through with any feasible solutions ensuring that a time-frame is clearly explained and reasonably adhered to.
