If you want the best quality in anything, you hire professionals. Professionals get paid!

Because I care about fairness and I love music. Musicians can't survive if they don't get paid. This hypocrisy on the part of LOCOG makes me very angry!

I earn a significant part of my income from playing the organ and are all too often expected to do this for nothing or a low fee which often doesn't cover expenses.

I am a professional musician and am appalled at the lack of respect shown to us.

This is typical of the ' so what do you do during the day' attitude of the public to professional musicians.
We mostly enjoy what we do but that doesnt mean we shouldnt expect to earn a decent living from it!

As a professional musician I have spent years and thousands of hours practcing and refining my playing skills in order to give pleasure to other people. Why should the public benefit from this for free. They expect to get paid when they go to work and often for a lot less effort in time and committment. Musicians are too often seen as a soft target grossly underpaid for the time and effort needed to achieve very high and exacting standards in their chosen mode of earning a living

We musicians have trained long and hard to achieve a career which , although musically fulfilling, has always been very competitive and consequently an underpaid market.
Nobody would dream of depriving a sportsman a wage that values his achievements. Why would anyone contemplate that a musician and artist should accept anything less?
Professional musicians should be lauded and respected for their dedication - not taken advantage of !!
