Stop SELLING to SCAM Locksmiths

This petition had 269 supporters

The Locksmithing industry has been under duress by countless out-of-state and out-of-country criminal organizations, commonly known as “scammers”, for the last 2 decades.

We have set forth the following criteria for identifying these scammers. A scammer is identified as any business who falsely presents itself as a legitimate Locksmith business and satisfies at least one the following criteria:

1. Fails to abide by all applicable licensing, registration, and business regulations in their area.

2. Engages in deceptive business practices including, but not limited to, "bait-and-switch” pricing and fraudulent business phone numbers and addresses.

3. Utilizes their skill set or training to compromise the safety or security of the customer or the general public.

4. Performs substandard work, which does not meet industry standards for professionalism, on a customer’s property.

For the sake of our families and businesses we are requesting that our suppliers and distributors help us alleviate this scourge from our industry, which has always been a beacon of public trust, security and safety. We request that our suppliers and distributors strengthen their customer screening process and obligation to the Locksmiths of the United States and Canada by not selling to or interacting with these scammer organizations in any way, shape, or form.

The following signatures represent the growing number of Locksmiths that will refuse to do business with ANY Locksmith supplier or distributor that cannot or will not recognize the impact these scammer organizations have on our local communities and businesses and most importantly the public trust that has been long intact with legitimate Locksmiths. The Locksmith community cannot and will not stand for this anymore.
