Confirmed victory

Locked Up for Spending 22 Years in the U.S. - Bring Fredd Reyes Home for Thanksgiving

This petition made change with 3,519 supporters!

Update: Thanks to your calls and signatures, ICE has released Fredd Reyes from detention in time for Thanksgiving.

More details here.

This marks the third individual victory for DREAMers this week. Earlier, Jennifer Abreu from Kentucky and Bernard Pastor from Ohio -- both DREAM Act - eligible youth - were also released from detention in time for Thanksgiving.

It's not over yet. Lets get the U.S. government to stop deporting a DREAMer with down syndrome and ensure passage of the DREAM Act in the lame duck session.

Fredd Reyes' education was put on hold the day that ICE knocked on his front door in North Carolina. This DREAMer, who has spent 22 of his 24 years in this country, is now facing imminent deportation in an inhumane detention facility in Georgia. His crime? He was brought here at the age of 2 and does not have papers declaring that he is an American. Read his story here and take action now and bring him home for Thanksgiving!

1. Sign the email petition below.

2. Call Do Price, Field Officer at Stewart Detention Center, at 229-838-1187 to urge deferral on the case of Fredd Reyes. (The voicemail is for a different name, but this is the correct number to call)

"Hi, I am calling to ask that you defer Fredd Reyes' removal. His A# is 073189270. He is a hard working student, who already has an approved green card waiting for him on the other side of your doors, and is an asset to North Carolina and the United States."

3. Call Senator Kay Hagan (D-NC) at 877-852-9462 and ask her support the DREAM Act, a bill that would give youth like Fredd the chance to no longer live in fear and to serve their communities
