Lexi Spitser started this petition to Localists and

My name is Lexi Spitser and I am currently a college student at Lincoln Memorial University (LMU) participating in my last semester of nursing school. I am a voting member of the Student Government Association (SGA) and last semester I was nominated and appointed to be the senator for the Caylor School of Nursing. Every semester we have the opportunity to write a bill to be presented and possibly passed to take make changes on campus.

Last semester I wrote a bill about improving the nursing program equipment in the labs so that new and incoming students would have a better opportunity to learn more hands-on skills. This semester, with the help of my friends Haley Smith and Ally Abbott, I am proposing a bill to start a Special Olympics here on LMU's campus. If you don't know what the Special Olympics is, I will explain it to you. The Special Olympics gives the opportunity for special needs children to gather together, compete, and win prizes. Lots of special needs children are left out when it comes to sports and other activities; however, I want to make a special dedication for LMU to host the Special Olympics here on campus so these children have the equal opportunity to participate in sports and other activities with the potential to make this an annual event.

As previously stated, this is just a proposal for a bill. I have no way of knowing that this bill will be passed and put into action; however, with the support of students on campus, there is a better chance of this becoming a real event on campus. If you would like to support me and my bill proposal, please sign this petition and email me at my school email (kristen.spitser@lmunet.edu). Any shares to other students attending LMU would be greatly appreciated. Thank you all for your support.
