Public land should remain in public ownership. If sold, it would be better that a chartered surveyor or architect with their own capital be allowed to improve the lodge with their own resources, with a covenant that the public retains unfettered access to the land surrounding.

The council should be protecting the green spaces!

Grangewood Park and the Lodge have been so important to me in terms of having somewhere green to go as there are not that many places in Thornton Heath. Also, it would be a positive step if the council turned the lodge into an educational centre around conservation and what remains of the Great North Wood, of which Grangewood park is a part.

Because promises have been broken by Croyden Council they have previously stated they would not sell this vital community building and land prior to their incompetent dealing of council funds and bankruptcy.
This park has been always a vital part community life before lockdown and even more during.
This building should be turned in to a community center to benifit the people.
Not a profit making scheme to bail out the council mismanagement of public funds.

Wildlife areas must be protected.
Any development must have the support of the local community.

Enough is enough, this Labour Council is a shambles and should be ashamed with the mess they have created. Back off and stop stealing from Croydon Residents.

Ive seen the present destruction and selling off of land in my own area that wants to build 6,000 new builds in Maldon Essex. Part of which surrounds Heybridge Woods. I wish you the best of luck with this petition.

We need to preserve the remains of the Great North Wood and conserve our green spaces.

Open spaces near urban areas provide a considerable benefit to the health and mental welfare of the people living there. Towns and cities need more of them, not less.

I have lost track of how many petitions I have signed in an attempt to help save our green spaces which are being taken over by people who obviously want to make profit on buildings. We desperately need to save our natural environment and wildlife habitats before more is destroyed and the climate is changed further.
