School children in year 11 and college students in their final year are being made to sit their exams next year, despite the many months of missed learning. Today (3/12/20) it was announced in the media that students will get “more generous grades, crib sheets and fewer topics”. I believe this is not good enough.
As a mum of a young person who is due to take their exams in the summer, I feel extremely concerned for his future. Although schools and colleges are trying their best to teach our children via teams and just one day of face to face teaching I find this concerning. The quality of teaching is not the same and children have missing out on learning.
Last years year 11 and a level students received their predicted grades. These young students had received most of their learning but was unable to take exams. This years children have missed a huge Chunk of learning. I am concerned for the future of our children. I believe we should follow Wales and young people should receive predicted grades for this year.
