I want to ask suffolk council to help me fund and start an extreme sports facility/charity in Ipswich by building a fun, safe & rewarding place for people to go in Ipswich, Suffolk. I want to build an indoor skate park to get kids & young adults off the streets, out of drugs & alcohol, violence and many other situations to have somewhere safe and productive to go. To be-able to give voluntary work and incentives to children and young adults in the extreme sport industry, by offering them work in the park, cafe etc and earning skating/riding time back for it to give them a sense of entitlement and feel like they have purpose. To focus on giving them the essential health and fitness they need. And to give children who are not in the situation yet a better option in life before having to turn to the streets and drugs. I feel this could be life changing to so many people, coming from myself, someone who has battled with smoking drugs and many other bad situations I have found myself in for over 15 years because I never had somewhere positively encouraging to go when life got hard for me as a kid. I feel like if I had a supportive, positive and encouraging environment to lean back on I certainly would not be 30 and the way I was up until recently. Luckily I have a supportive family around me, and children of my own which have helped me pull through my demons, but it has taken me a long time and a long list of regrets and mistakes to get to this point. Some things no child should ever have to experience. So I want to save children and young adults from having to go through what I have been through because they have no other choice going down the wrong path by not having the support they need around them. By Starting this park, just some of the things I plan to include will be skating/riding youth clubs, offering training in sports, mental health sessions, friends and peers for people, girls sessions, boys sessions, under 15s sessions, giving parents a safe place to drop there kids off for there own needed time, volunteer work, offering kids a safe place to go off the streets, so kids have opportunities to be-able to compete in shows which can even lead to the Olympics, but mainly to create fun, positive and life changing atmospheres. So these kids and young adults can see a future, not just any future but a bright future. I also think this will benefit Ipswich massively, I have heard of talk about wanting to turn it in to a city, and I believe this will create lots of jobs to locals who already live here and bring visitors in from all over Europe.
