Save Coogee's Heritage

This petition had 450 supporters

The fight to save one of Coogee's few Federation Arts & Crafts homes is on.

Designed in 1919 by Alfred Pritchard a former president of the Australian Institute of Architects, 48 Dudley Street is an example of Coogee's rich architectural heritage. Incredibly the original 1919 interiors are intact, providing a rare example of traditional artisan skills and local craftsmanship.

As Dr Noni Boyd, heritage officer at the Australian Institute of Architects, says: "As a group these Coogee houses are significant...it is one of the few substantial concentrations outside of the harbour."

Join us to help save this Coogee icon from being bulldozed and replaced with another monstrous 'blamonge' block of apartments, and speak out in support of good architecture, quality building and housing diversity across Sydney – past, present and future.

Please sign our petition today and spread the good word with family and friends... together we can save a local architectural icon!

Thank you!
