Stop the speeding: Make Plantagenet Road safe

We all want our roads to be safe for every member of our community but especially the young and the vulnerable. Seeing two cars actually turned upside down recently are stark reminders that Plantagenet Road is simply not safe.

There is only one elevated raised part of the road which does not slow traffic. There are no bumps, no speed cameras and no traffic lights. The road is a continual Scalextric track for young and  not-so-young boy (and girl!) racers -travelling too fast round blind bends and down our hill.

Pedestrians on the zebra crossing near Cromer Road School are largely ignored by drivers due to parked cars and the dangerously sharp bend near the crossing. Our children cross this road twice a day and it’s Russian Roulette, many drivers do not see the pedestrians in time .

In short - this is not an accident waiting to happen but endless accidents that have already happened. It is however a fatality waiting to happen and we must do all we can to can to prevent that.

What we want:

1.    Traffic lights before the Bulwer and Plantagenet turning

2.    Double yellow lines placed near the crossing so drivers see pedestrians on the crossing

3.    Speed camera on Potter's Road

Please, please, please sign our petition and make our roads safe.
