We want to make our local Little League a Cal Ripken League, since most of the towns around us have already made the switch. This would allow us to play more local games and more leagues in general, currently we can only play Laconia and Suncook. Being a Cal Ripken League we could play surrounding towns which will be the teams that they will continue to play once they are in Middle and High School levels. We could play Franklin, Newfound, Belmont, Gilford, Concord, Bow, Plymouth, Merrimack Valley, etc. This would give us more teams to play within a closer area, which would mean more games and playing time for our developing baseball players.

From the Cal Ripken website...

“Cal Ripken is the fastest growing youth baseball program in New Hampshire.  There are 52 leagues in New Hampshire encompassing 216 communities with over 1,450 teams and 21,750 youngsters; and there are more leagues joining every year.

If you are considering a change in your program, you should learn more about Cal Ripken Baseball. Contact any of the officials listed under the Contacts tab at the top of this page or email the New Hampshire Cal Ripken State Commissioner, John Svenson
Babe Ruth Leagues, Inc. includes Cal Ripken Baseball for ages 4-12, Babe Ruth Baseball for ages 13-18, and Babe Ruth Softball for ages 5-18. All three programs are the largest of their kind in the State of New Hampshire.”

If you are interested in this switch please consider signing this petition. The more signatures we get, increases the probability that the TNLL board will reconsider the switch, based on the wants of the community and their participants. We would like to have a meeting in the near future, if we have enough  interest, that will explain the slight differences in Cal Ripken as opposed to Little League.
