At present relatives are not given access to visit inside care homes because of risk of infection. This is causing extreme distress. If a negative test result is provided at the door of the home and the relative is taken straight to the individual’s room, what is the difference between the carer who has access and goes home each day at the end of the shift?

Elderly people are desperate to see their loved ones and so anxious that they may pass away before they can get a hug.My mother went into hospital on 8th June 2020 and then into a care home. She is 91 and I can only wave at her through the window. The home are following government guidelines and cannot make their own rules. The government and local authorities need to understand that time is of the essence and sort this out   By all means let us be tested but let us in!
