Public land with grazing leases have conditions. These conditions must be upheld, for protection of our public lands. Our lands with historical teepee rings, Buffalo jumps and ceremonial sites are being destroyed by hate. The leaseholder hates women landowners, the indigenous heritage of the land and the indigenous supportive business on the adjoining private land.

- Our provincial government has not enforced access to a section of public land denied for over 6 years by the leaseholder. Denied because of hate for the indigenous and anyone who supports them.

- The Government is aware the leaseholder posts the Public Land as Private Land. There has been. No enforcement, aside from asking for the signs to be removed, which they were not.

- They have permitted the leaseholder to destroy the Tolman Heritage Rangeland to erect a fence that is not designed to fence in cows, the fence is designed to fence out any public access. There have not been cows on the lease since 2004.

We demand the government enforce the Grazing Lease Stewardship Code of Conduct.

- Under the Code of Conduct, the lessor is required to provide social and economic benefits to allow Albertans to enjoy beautiful landsscapes, watersheds, maintain biodiversity and opportunites for reasons like hunting and tourism.

- Under the Code of Conduct, leaseholders are required to follow the intent of the legistlation, which is to balance the right of recreational users to access with the leaseholders right to protect the land, livestock and improvements

- Leaseholders MUST BE AVILABLE FOR CONTACT and provide expertise and communicate with recreational users. Posting the Land as private and denying access to everyone is not in the spirit of the legislation.

Our public lands, belong to all of us. We can not permit the abuse of the laws for leaseholders, to simply be used to deny access to these lands and defend their hate of women and the land’s indigenous heritage. We can not destroy public land intentionally to prevent access to the public. There must be enforcement and protection of our rights to these lands.
