On April 25th, Local 4 News in Detroit printed an article on their website that aired on the evening news claiming to list the 5 dog breeds that are worst with children. The number one dog on their list was the pit bull terrier. They had no legitimate sources for this article, only the opinion of the person who wrote it, along with the opinion of "Dogsbite.org," which is a known anti-pit bull propaganda site. This is damaging to shelter dogs that may be correctly or incorrectly labeled at "pit bull", as well as millions of dog owners throughout the country. Additionally, its incorrect. Well socialized pit bulls are known for be extremely patient and tolerant with children. They tend to tolerate rough play, ear pulling and tail tugging more then some other breeds. Local 4 News Detroit should be boycotted by all dog lovers until they retract this story with an on-air apology!
