This morning at Churchill High School, there were 4 or more accidents caused by black ice on the road. On my way to school, my carpool slid off the road, and drifted into another lane, unable to brake. If we were a little bit more unlucky, we would have been in another accident. I cannot speak for the other Livonia schools, but I can assume the road conditions were similar.

      Administrative irresponsibility was responsible for the accidents this morning. There will be lots of money wasted on damages, as well as students missing classes due to issues on the road. This issue was completely avoidable. The road conditions could have been predicted last night, and classes could've been delayed or cancelled, or at the very least, there could have been an effort to salt the roads or make this morning safer.

      This petition will voice our problems to administration- we cannot do anything about the situation this morning except learn. Hopefully, by putting your name onto this petition, administration can become more aware of the concerns of the student body. In the future, there should be a more conscious effort to keep us, as Livonia students, safer on the road. This issue should have been avoided. I hope that through this petition, Livonia Public Schools will become aware of the concerns of the student body.
