Why this petition matters

A planning application by local contractor PJ Percival Construction has been submitted to Liverpool City Council to build a six to eight-storey development incorporating a hotel and 114 apartments.

This would mean the iconic Parr Street Studios, Studio 2 and Attic Bar would be completely demolished and replaced with more unnecessary, soulless apartments and a new hotel.

Parr Street studios have famously hosted an array of recording music artists such as; Coldplay, Echo & The Bunnymen, The Zutons and The Coral, amongst many others.

Studio 2 regularly gives a platform to bands local and from around the world to showcase their music to the people of Liverpool. Attic Bar is frequented by many people each weekend to catch local DJ's play a wide range of music.

This petition is to Mayor Joe Anderson and Liverpool Council to deny planning permission to allow demolition of these famous buildings for the sake of more apartments that the vast majority of Liverpool residents are against. We need to protect our nightlife and musical heritage. If the council allows further developments Liverpool will soon become a city of apartments and hotels with not much else left worth visiting.
