More on this petition:
Burns Outdoor Obstacle Training (BOOT) is a small family business who have been running successfully for 5 years and offers a valuable community resource that promotes physical and mental health.Due to a recent complaint being made against BOOT,the very council that has been supporting and funding this business in the form of funding school holiday classes to the community for the last 3 years is now threatening to close it down (Liverpool City Council or LCC).The Owners Wayne and Lorelai did get verbal approval and a signed and stamped form from LCC before and after starting the construction of the Obstacle course. After 5 successful years of the business operating and being fully transparent with our activities along the way and after being featured widely through a range of medias including the TODAY show, and the Bachelorette, LCC have issued a Notice to Stop Use and a Notice of Proposed Demolish Works Order and Restore Works Order which are due to expire on November 30th. BOOT has also been deemed a finalist in the Liverpool City Local Business Awards for 2020. Currently BOOT serves the community both near and far from children ages 6 years old and above. It is a facility that values inclusiveness of all and is widely used by schools, disability groups, a range of emergency services personnel, and all levels of fitness and ability. It promotes fun, fitness and mental health to all who use it. The only hope BOOT has at this stage is that there may be rezoning to take place where it lies (which will be finalised by September 11th) and if it goes our way, may offer a solution to us legally being allowed to remain providing this service to the community. The only other possible solution that has been offered is expensive and unrealistic for us and we will therefore be closed down. This isn't just a fight for us but for the community. We have seen how valuable our facility is to everyone who uses it. We are asking for support in asking LCC to help us work out a solution for us to keep us around to serve the community in the way that we have been. In the current pandemic situation, facilities like ours are invaluable and are necessary. We ask that you please sign our petition and ask your friends to sign and share to save our livelihood and this valuable facility. Thank-you.
