Help Improve the Quality of Care in Liverpool Care Homes

Did you know over 500,000 older people are abused in the UK each year? This could be in someone’s own home, a residential home, or a hospital. In care homes, there should be professional registered nurses or experienced care assistants, who provide 24-hour nursing care services for residents and keep them safe and secure. However, this is not always the case. For example, Lilycross Care Centre in Widnes was closed down after CQC inspectors revealed dementia patients suffered unexplained bruises and nurse call buttons were placed out of reach, forcing them to cry for help.
Our campaign aims to increase awareness of the quality of care in Liverpool care homes and educate our society on why we need more trained professionals and better recognition of abuse cases. The elderly should be able to feel safe and enjoy the time they spend in care homes, so we should ensure that all care homes meet the basic standards required.
10N Citizenship Campaign would appreciate your help in raising awareness of our project.
