This is a petition started and ran by 4th grade students who are learning about how bad fossil fuels are for the planet and hope to make a change in the world. The students came up with the idea to start a petition and are acting as empowered learners to create a club centered around it and have been hanging posters all throughout the halls. They have learned and informed me that fossil fuels are destroying the oceans and other wildlife. The fossil fuels will also be gone within 50 years, so we need to start transitioning to more renewable energy now in order to get ahead of the curve. Our first goal is for this petition to reach Auburn, KY City Council, and for them to consider using more renewable energy sources within the city limits
