This high school's dress code is ridiculous and caters to rape culture. Theres no reason shorts more then 3 inches above the knee, midriff being visible, spaghetti strap tank tops, or simply a girl choosing not to wear a bra should be prohibited. There is absolutely nothing inherently sexual about any of those regions of a body. You may use "well it distracts the boys and may cause disruption in the classroom" as an excuse, however, maybe we should work on teaching young boys not to sexualize young girls from simply a bare shoulder or a belly button. Nipples aren't sexual, they are sexualized... breasts exist to feed children and that reason only. They have been wrongly sexualized for centuries. No one makes a peep when a boys nipples are showing, why? Because women's are a secondary sex trait? So are Adams apples. You don't see women running around and throwing a fit because we can see a boys Adams apple, maybe because women do not sexualize men as if they're objects the way men have done women for centuries. The dress code needs to be modernized, it caters to pedophilic mentalities in young boys. Instead we need to teach boys how to respect women and let them live without harassment.
