As of right now, there are only two planned parenthood’s in Alabama. Which makes it exceptionally difficult for women to get the help they need. It isn’t just about abortions, it about free healthcare, birth control, and even cancer screenings. The two planned parenthood’s are 3 hours away from each other. And are also all up north. Women need more access to the help they need. And it’s not just for women either. Men can go to get cancer screenings, and healthcare. Women and men have to make a 6 hour round trip just to get the care they need. As a woman, this is outrageous. I (and other women and men) should be able to get the care we need without having to drive across the state, or even go to another state. Compared to Illinois (where I’m from), they have 18 clinics available all over the state. I’m completely blown away by the huge difference.
