Diwali is a festival celebrated by Hindus every year in the month of October. This year, it's going to be celebrated on Monday the 24th. As students of Leander ISD, we want to promote cultural diversity and appreciation by having the District allow us a day off from school. Diwali is the "festival of lights" that shows the triumph of good over evil and light over dark. to let us celebrate our festival. In recent times, Round Rock ISD had announced the day of Diwali a holiday for students. We, students at Rouse High School, would like to promote culture diversity and appreciation by allowing a District-wide holiday for the day of Diwali.
