Reduce the speed limit on the Knockmore and Prince William roads in Lisburn to 30 mph

For too long Lisburn council have done nothing about the many serious accidents and deaths on the Knockmore and Prince William roads in Lisburn. Our children walk to and from school on these roads daily and are at risk.
There are too many dangerous junctions to warrant a 50 mph speed limit and with the proposed home bargains store at the old Down Royal site and the possibility of a link direct to the M1 motorway this is only going to make matters worse.
Please petition Lisburn and Castlereagh City Council to reduce the speed limit on these roads to 30 mph. There is no need for a speed limit of 50 mph as drivers normally end up sitting in traffic anyway. There's no real point in travelling a short distance at 50 mph only to have to stop and sit in traffic.
Something needs done urgently before there is another death. Please sign and share.
