Currently the gender pay gap between men and women for full time work is at 16.0% difference. That means women are earning $261.30 less per week than their male counterparts. This averages to women earning $1.4 million less than men over their life time.

Statistically, women are working for free every Friday and stop being paid by the 3rd of November each year, with gender pay gaps ranging as high as 82% in some job sectors.

In 2016, Australia was ranked 46 in the world regarding gender based disparities in the workforce by the Global Gender Gap Report published by the World Economic Forum.

We are calling on the Federal Minister for Women Michaelia Cash, Federal Shadow Minister for Women Tanya Plibersek and Victorian Shadow Minister for Women Georgie Crozier to #endthepaygap.

With more than half of Australia’s population being women, we are asking you to think about the future generations and play a part in ensuring their equality in the workforce.
