VIVA LA MUSICA OLD BAR!!!
Mar 22, 2018 — A massive thank you to all (2,000+) supporters of our petition. Your support and action in signing this petition demonstrated to Liquor and Gaming the importance of live music to this community and has resulted in a positive outcome!
OUTCOME: Liquor & Gaming have imposed the LA10 noise condition on our licence. A balanced and proportionate response to the issues raised in the disturbance complaint. It protects residents from undue noise (the music can go a maximum of 5 decibels above the average ambient noise level), but it does not unduly burden Flow Bar.
This means that provided we comply to the LA10 noise guidelines we are able to play live music 7 days/nights a week until 10:30pm. That said, we won't be playing live music 7 days a week. Liquor & Gaming further noted that the use of drums is even okay and that it is reasonable for nearby residents to expect some noise by the venues ongoing operation provided that it complies with LA10.
The LA10 condition became effective 15 January 2018, since then we have monitored and recorded each performance (twenty to date), with an average DB increase of only 2 DB and a the loudest individual reading was still less than 3 decibels above average ambient noise levels.
We will continue to monitor and record all of our live music performances to ensure we comply with the LA10.
Once again from both our families thank you for your support and we look forward to bringing you good people of Old Bar and surrounds more crackin live music!
