Jessica Clark started this petition to Senator Lindsey Graham and

Self-checkouts are a problem. They take away jobs that retailers say saves money. However, when one person is scheduled to take care of 20+ registers at the same time, customer service goes to the toilet. Not to mention burn=out for the employee because they are busy doing jobs meant for t2 people. Consumers would rather stand in line than to practically do a job without pay. Consumers are not able to get help in the time that they need, which defeats the purpose of self-checkout. Also, cash purchases are getting harder and harder to do. I feel that self-checkouts are taking rights away from people. For example, to pay their groceries with cash without hassle. Most consumers HATE this! Listen to the customers. Better costumer service means better economy. Even more, theft would decrease which effects cost of groceries. With an employee being responsible for a number of self-checkouts, less attention gets paid to those stealing. Media portrays that the one customer service employee sits around doing practically nothing and that is far from the truth. Please petition with me and let's get our rights and customer service back.
