As stated by Linden Labs, the vending system know as “gachas” were effectively banned starting September 1st, 2021. Since then, there has been several workarounds of this ban with the only true difference between gachas and these workarounds is that instead of being randomly presented a prize, you know exactly which prize you will earn as it will display on the machine.

Whether the prizes are known or not, these new systems are still forms of gambling because these systems still use base-chance purchases and breaks the Gaming Policy Violation.

A large section of the SL Community has voiced strong displeasure since these workarounds have been presented, and has also added that these workarounds are seen as nothing more than greed and scamming on the part of the creators and vendors who support it. We wish to eliminate any form of this type of vendor system and encourage honest sales of items. We say no to ALL gambling-based purchases.
