Change Greenville High School's Dress Code - I am Human, Not a Sex Object
This petition had 52 supporters
Young women all around the world are constantly being told that they should cover up their bodies, their shoulders are inappropriate, their skin is a distraction.
WE ARE NOT THE PROBLEM.
WE DESERVE CHANGE. We deserve to be able to wear shirts that fit us and make use feel confident without worrying about "distracting" teenage boys and grown men who should've been taught that womens bodies are not sexual objects. We don't deserve to be treated as things that need to be controlled in order for men to concentrate.
WE ARE NOT OBJECTS. In the world, we as women are conditioned to believe that if we really want something we have to put up a hell of a lot of work to make it happen.
IT IS NOT OKAY FOR SCHOOLS TO TELL YOU WHAT TO WEAR OR HOW TO DRESS.
IT IS NOT OKAY THAT WE HAVE TO WALK THE HALLS FEELING LIKE PREY WALKING INTO A LIONS DEN.
WE DESERVE TO FEEL SAFE.
WE DESERVE TO FEEL LIKE OUR EDUCATION MATTERS MORE THAN A MALES WANDERING EYES.
WE DESERVE TO FEEL LIKE OUR BODIES ARE PROTECTED, NOT PROSECUTED.
Sign this petition to let the school board know that our daughters, sisters, and friends, are NOT sexual objects.
