The schools in the Fremont Unified School District are now giving free lunches for kids in school, each kid who is getting that lunch gets a plastic spork. So let’s say that there is 100 kids per school that is buying lunch, that is 100 sporks given out per school, there are 42 schools in the district so 100x42=4200 plastic sporks used per day, and who knows how many more they have leftover that are wasted. My solution to this is that we switch to biodegradable sporks and take a step to save the planet.
