LVSD has plans for reopening school this Fall 2 days a week on-site/4 days for high school but not Wednesdays (huh?�).  The remainder is remote learning.  The option of only participating in remote learning  is offered.  However, not so for parents who want to support their child(ren)'s education in a traditional setting.  The school board's fear that a covid-19 infection will occur is being put before your child(ren)'s mental health, social emotional growth, and their ability to participate in extracurricular activities (all while social distancing and wearing masks as per CDC guidelines of course).

   Our neighboring school district in Latrobe with over 3,000 learners is reopening back to normal.  Notably because the  latest evidence from the CDC is that the virus is rarely able to transmit child to child or adolescent to adolescent.  Dr. Fauci even said last week to reopen the schools, just follow the guidelines. 

    During this time of isolation, there are children in their homes praying to get to go back to school because that is their only refuge from the situation in their household.  It might be the only part of the day that they are fed or the only part of the day that they are not exposed to some form of trauma or abuse.  Let that sink in for a moment.  

HOW ARE WE SUPPOSED TO FINANCIALLY SUPPORT OUR FAMILIES? "Working remotely is not an option, salary pay means 40 hours a week is required, only one parent household, day care payment means no car payment...." If you have the thoughts or similar ones, youre not alone.

Lastly, I am not a teacher.  In my household, the remote learning model was a failure. Why repeat something that didn't work in the first place?
