Make ski lift's safer!

My boyfriend, 23, seasonaire worker in Serre Chevalier fell off a ski lift on the 20th of March 2018.

My boyfriend is epileptic and is prone to epileptic fits. Before this incident he has had 2 fits that occurred around 4 years ago.

He fell off the Casse Du Boeuf chairlift one morning at around 11:30 am. According to the local rescue team he fell approximately 8 metres. He broke parts of his ribs, part of his spinal cord, suffered a collapsed lung, had internal bleeding in his liver and also suffered from a black eye.

After the incident he was taken to the local Briancon hospital and then later transferred to Marseille hospital to receive proper treatment for his injuries.

Whilst he was on the lift, he did not have his feet and skis on the foot bar provided, but this particular lift did not have a safety bar that goes between the riders legs to prevent them from slipping whilst plenty more ski lifts in the Serre Chevalier area do have this safety feature.

If the Casse Du Boeuf chairlift had this safety feature, my boyfriend would not have fallen from the lift and suffered these injuries.

The email address of the lift operators in Serre Chevalier is contact@serre-chevalier.com. Signing this petition would help all fellow skiers to be safer whilst on lifts to ensure that incidents like this do not happen again.

Also https://www.epilepsysociety.org.uk/ is a great charity that is doing great work for people with epilepsy. I would highly recommend looking at their website and donating.
