End Systemic Misfeasance in Ontario Policing

Systemic misfeasance in policing has existed for decades.
Misfeasance: "...a transgression, especially the wrongful exercise of lawful authority."
Police officers have been on the other side of the law. But, what happens when they remain on their side of the law, and still break the law?
In Ontario, police investigate police. This is unheard of in most countries that value accountability and transparency.
Whether you are a citizen who was mistreated by police, lost a family member to excessive or unnecessary use of force by police, made a report to police that was not properly investigated, been retaliated against for reporting police misconduct, been harassed or discriminated against by police, or simply demand a higher ethical standard from your police, your name is needed on this petition to establish a public inquiry into allegations of systemic misfeasance in Ontario policing.
In 2017, Justice Michael Tulloch looked into the efficacy of our police oversight bodies, yet they are still ineffective at combating police abuse of power. We need a public inquiry where the facts can be exposed. The real problem lies in those responsible for today's corruption in policing retiring into prestigious government jobs and continuing the pattern. The terms of reference for this public inquiry MUST allow for protection from reprisal for current or former police officers, if it is to be done properly.
There are current and former police officers willing to testify as this petition is being written. Those individuals have already made attempts to communicate with government officials to affect positive change, yet those officials are unwilling to accept the current state of affairs in policing in this province, we need a full public inquiry.
Ethical and accountable police is a matter of public interest.
What prompted the creation of this petition and the call for a public inquiry is the recent case of an Ottawa Psychologist making a complaint of impersonation, and then facing a criminal charge himself.
