The purpose of this petition is to bring awareness to the citizens of the North Central Region of Philadelphia, about the current building located on 2900 N. 17th St. Currently this building is zoned for a prison. Therefore, the developer Mark Nicoletti Sr. would like to reverse the zoning to commercial. Within Mr. Nicoletti’s plan to change this building to commercial, he would like to implement a economic enterprise center, which would eventually create thousands of jobs within this area. Also, this property would give an opportunity to small businesses within the area to have a location for their businesses. As concerned members of the community, we would like to express the invitation to all citizens to attend weekly community meetings to become organized as one. We, the undersigned, are concerned citizens who urge our current Registered Community Organization (RCO) leaders within our area to act now to approve to have an advisory board to be chosen by the community to oversee the tenants of the property located on 2900 N. 17th St that is owned by Mark Nicoletti Sr. Therefore, if the community has the opportunity to the best individuals that would represent the community in a ethical manner then this will attract more businesses to build within this location in North Central Philadelphia. This effect of new businesses within North Central Philadelphia will create a new economic stream within the poverty stricken community within North Central Philadelphia, and it will eventually change the mindsets of the residing citizens within the community. Our community of North Central Philadelphia has been facing a economic epidemic for decades, and a new economic enterprise center within our community will help restore the absence of jobs and hope within our community.
