I live in Bracknell last 17 years my kids father lived in the area for generations. I am getting redundant and decided to do street trade in Bracknell area. I wanted to become independent rather then living off the benefit system as a single mother. I always worked and contribute to economy and society. I decided to sell Kebab and hot food for 5 -6 hours. I approached council regarding this matter. Before you make an application for street trade you need to approach the licensing team. Because the application fee is non refundable if the spot turned down. There is a regeneration project is taking place and Lexion will open in 6 months in the town.
I show the licensing team the possible trading spots.Their reasoning is Bracknell regeneration . They are not allowing outskirt of the town any street trading. They told me that they are already given 4 giant food bussiness licensing in the town centre (Jamie's Oliver , Carlucciano, Nandos..) They ask me how on earth I was going to make money out of this Kebab Van. I told them the food talks for itself.
The last spot(Bull lane bracknell) I show them was at least 1.5 mile from Lexion car park opposite of a empty car park and behing giant football pitch.
I emphasize them Bracknell Regeneration project is for the ordinary people of the Bracknell who lived in the area long time. Not to push them away from where we belong.
Bracknell Market tried to thrown out by the council because of the regeneration project. After the public support they had to turn down their decision for removing market.
I am great believer of ordinary people can make a huge changes. I am asking kindly you to put a pressure to Bracknell Forest Council Licencing team to get a consent for street trading with my Kebab Van.
Ps. I approached council for outskirt of the town for a trade. They told me that there was an attempt for travellers illegal parking further up the road and they put billards. If they give me licence for this spot (South road sandhurst)they were worried that this will encourge travellers the park in that bay.( which is not the place they parked )
