Why this petition matters

Started by Henry Gage, Jr.

As the first African American to use Hemp-Lime to retrofit a regular house in a regular neighborhood (Kingston, NY) and as a member of the Seed Song Farm Center BOD in Kingston, NY and as the recently appointed President of the US Hemp Building Association (USHBA), The People Need Your Help!

If you vote in New York, please sign this petition to confirm that you support the state of New York spending at least $20 Million to build affordable housing using hemp-lime as insulation (at least 51% industrial hemp).

This will trigger the Workforce Development and Research necessary to accomplish goals outlined in recent NY legislation.

We promise to work with the people to select locations and engage with farmers, community organizers, investors and legislators to complete the work.

Backstory:

During the Hemp Fiber and Grain Workgroup call on Friday, August 26, 2022, when NYS Assemblywoman Donna A. Lupardo - Chair of Agriculture and Markets Committee confirmed that she follows the wishes of her constituents, it was then we were reminded that ... we still live in a Democracy!

It is important that people work together and arrive at agreement and bring that agreement to elected leaders with proof of consensus. This is why I need you to sign this petition and share the link with others.

Also, please join US Hemp Building Association (USHBA.org) and find a network of people in your state working to liberate hemp, support hempexemption.org improve the 2023 farm bill and create job opportunities for the members.
