El 13 de diciembre, soldados israelíes atacaron el Teatro de la Libertad (The Freedom Theatre) en Jenin. Dispararon, destruyeron las instalaciones y atacaron al personal del teatro. El director artístico Ahmed Tobasi, el productor Mustafa Sheta y el poeta y egresado del teatro Jamal Abu Joas fueron sacados de sus casas con violencia y detenidos ilegalmente. Jamal fue brutalmente golpeado. Ahmed Tobasi ha sido liberado, también fue golpeado y humillado. Sus dos colegas, más 100 palestinos de Jenin han sido secuestrados como rehenes y siguen detenidos. 

Las personas que trabajamos en la cultura y el teatro en México exigimos:

-la inmediata liberación de Mustafa Sheta, Jamal Abu Joas y los 100 personas de la comunidad de Jenin que han sido detenidas el miércoles 13 de diciembre. 

-fin a los ataques dirigidos a sitios culturales.

-un inmediato y permanente cese al fuego.

-fin a la ocupación de Gaza.

-fin a la expansión de los colonos en Cisjordania.

-libre retorno de todas las personas palestinas refugiadas a sus tierras.

Alto al genocidio cultural de Palestina. ¡Palestina libre!

On December 13, Israeli soldiers attacked The Freedom Theatre in Jenin. They fired shots, destroyed the facilities and attacked theater staff. Artistic director Ahmed Tobasi, producer Mustafa Sheta and poet and theater graduate Jamal Abu Joas were violently taken from their homes and illegally detained. Jamal was brutally beaten. Ahmed Tobasi has been released, he was also beaten and humiliated. His two colleagues, plus 100 Palestinians from Jenin have been kidnapped as hostages and are still detained. 

Those of us who work in Mexican culture and theater demand:

-the immediate release of Mustafa Sheta, Jamal Abu Joas and the 100 people from the Jenin community who have been detained on Wednesday, December 13. 

-an end to the attacks on cultural sites.

-an immediate and permanent ceasefire.

-an end to the occupation of Gaza.

-an end to the expansion of settlers in the West Bank.

-free return of all Palestinian refugees to their land.
