The proposed Traffic Regulation Order (TRO) proposes to close a series of rural roads and lanes to motorised traffic apart from agricultural vehicles, access and delivery vans.

During lockdowns the reduced traffic has enabled the safe increase in the use of these rural lanes by pedestrians, cyclists and horse riders. The proposals provide an opportunity to make this permanent.

Many of these lanes cross the Nailsea, Tickenham and Kenn Moors SSSI. The proposals allow people to get closer to and appreciate this fragile environment without damaging it with increased pollution.

Closing roads will encourage people to drive less which will have a positive effect on combating climate change.
