There are only 3 gender neutral bathrooms throughout the entire school and they are always being taken by cisgendered students who have their own bathrooms. Most of the time, cisgendered students go into the gender neutral bathrooms to vape or smoke, which many of my friends have smelled while walking into the bathrooms afterwards. Cisgendered boys go into these gender neutral bathrooms and steal the tampons and pads which our AFAB students need for their menstrual cycles. They also vandalize the bathrooms. I have had to go into the bathrooms for when I change for my gym class and it’s getting tiring having to wait for cisgendered students to get out and when I finally get in, having to smell weed or whatever they were vaping. You’d think for being “supportive” and “progressive” that there would be more gender neutral bathrooms in the new building, but if I ever need to use the restroom, I usually have to walk across the building or go on a completely different floor from where my classes are just so I can use the gender neutral bathroom.Gender neutral bathrooms should be made specifically for transgender students and there should be more open around the school. They could make it so the gender neutral bathrooms have locks that can only be opened with keys and only give those keys to the transgender students.
