Should LTMS Students Have To Wear A Mask During A Choir Concert?
Why this petition matters

People of DeSoto, We are asking for our school to let us have the option to wear masks or not to wear masks during our choir concerts. Our students are struggling, ( During this time of Covid) since we have to wear our masks for almost 8 hours a day, daily. (Without all of the extra time having to wear them for special events.) I am in 8th grade, and I find it is difficult to sing loudly with our masks muffling our voices, especially when our 8th grade choir has only 23 people total. Our request is very important, and we understand the reason for masks, and the concern for the safety of our students, but we think it is reasonable to let us have our masks off while singing. Our school has allowed the student athletes to take a break of wearing masks during the games. I personally think it would benefit the students to let them go with out masks during our concerts. Our songs are about 2-3 minutes each. The sports games are normally about 45 minutes-1 hour. Our chances are very low if something were to happen with Covid 19, and we are very aware of the risks, but we think our students deserve the option for wearing masks during our concerts. I believe that all choir students would greatly appreciate this if it were to be approved, we did not forget about the 6th and 7th grade choirs. We are asking to also consider them as well with this request.
Thank you very much for considering this.
