Have you ever wondered why River Bluff is one of the few High Schools in our district that does not allow hats? I have organized this petition to take to the River Bluff school board along with a presentation to argue why we should be allowed to wear hats. Lexington High School, White Knoll High School, Gilbert High School, and other schools in Lexington District One allow their students to wear hats throughout the school day with the exception of River Bluff.

       Some students get headaches and migraines throughout the school day, a hat would allow them to block out the lights from their eyes without distracting other students or causing them to leave class. If a student sleeps past their alarm or is running late and does not have time to do their hair they could simply throw a hat on and still look presentable and feel confident. While the administration argues that baseball caps are not allowed because it is a safety concern, although they do not cover your face and it is nearly impossible to conceal a weapon in a hat.

       If you would like to wear hats at school for style, relieving headaches, or even covering up a bad hair day please sign this petition. Even if you don’t want to wear a hat at school but support this argument, please sign this petition. Every signature helps.
