Update - Support Conservation and Save Dennetts Road Streetlamps

Nov 5, 2014 — Thank you so much for supporting this campaign to save the streetlamps on Dennetts Road. I am very sad to report that Ian Ransom who is in charge of the contract at the Council will not change their position, which is to remove and replace them with modern lamps.

I will make an official complaint about this using this link:
http://www.lewisham.gov.uk/mayorandcouncil/Complaints-and-feedback/Pages/complaints-procedure.aspx

If as many people as possible can also do this, that would be great.

I am also keen to explore the legality of the streetlamps' removal in a conservation area, as it seems wrong to remove heritage lamps in a conservation area, and then to replace them with modern lamps. Is anyone who has signed this petition a lawyer, or know anyone who is conversant with Planning Law or any other area of law which would apply in this situation?

In addition to our petition, very many of the households on Dennetts Road have 'Save Our Streetlamps' posters in their windows, as does The Telegraph pub! Our views as interested parties and residents are just not being considered, which makes me very very annoyed... thus determined to continue with this, even though a positive outcome looks unlikely! So, any further support you can lend to this by making a complaint using the link above, or with expertise - legal, journalistic or otherwise, is our only chance of having our views taken seriously.

My email is: a.irwin@live.co.uk. Do get in touch with any suggestions of how to forward our campaign.

Thanks!

Alison
