Why this petition matters

Started by Azan Shoaib

Pakistan currently ranks 154th out of 195 countries in terms of overall system performance. As a developing country with a mere 2% of its GDP allocated for total health expenditures, Pakistan struggles to maintain a proper healthcare system with regard to quality and accessibility. The twin pressures of Pakistan’s growing population and limited infrastructure require that we embrace and scale-up innovative approaches to healthcare delivery, including digital health, for cost-effective healthcare solutions. Technologies like artificial intelligence can be used to generate real-time data on the prevalent health issues in different regions in order to help tackle them. Artificial intelligence simplifies the lives of patients, doctors, and hospital administrators by performing tasks that are typically done by humans, but in less time and at a fraction of the cost." So in this respect government should take initiative to invest and train manpower in the cutting-edge discipline of artificial intelligence applications in health sciences.

As an aspiring young citizen of Pakistan, I Azan Shoaib along with my fellow group members Ayana, Mikail, Amina, Mohid, Manal, Noah, Eshal and Ibrahim of Lahore Grammar School Phase V Defence urge the government of Pakistan to increase funds allocated for total health expenditure and take initiative to invest and train manpower in the cutting-edge discipline of artificial intelligence applications in health sciences.
