The ancient rite of our Holy Mother Church has been practiced for thousands of years. It is what shaped all the forms of Mass, which includes the Ordinary Form. It is only recently that this rite has been looked down upon, as something that is deemed unnecessary, un-needed, etc. 

“What earlier generations held as sacred, remains sacred and great for us too, and it[Usus Antiquior] cannot be all of a sudden entirely forbidden or even considered harmful—“

Effective immediately on August, 1, 2022, His Eminence, Cupich, has issued the shutdown of the ICKSP in Chicago. This is absolutely shocking, and saddening news. The ICKSP has dealt with hard times coming to the U.S, especially when their provincial Shrine had been destroyed, “Totalled,” by a fire.

What will happen to the Shrine now, since the ICKSP will be shutdown? We don’t know, but take into consideration, the time, effort, donations, to re-build this, only to have it halt.
