Lethbridge, AB, should have a ward system

On 19 June 2017, city council voted on a resolution to ask Lethbridge residents to vote in the next municipal election on whether we should have a ward system. Everyone present except for one person voted it down.
Immediately afterward, they voted on a resolution to have city administration comprehensively research changing to a ward system, so the next city council could make an informed decision on the matter. Everyone present but two persons voted it down.
Several council members claimed that only a handful of Lethbridge residents want a ward system despite the issue being raised at multiple candidate forums in recent municipal elections and despite it being brought by members of the general public to a focus group last autumn held by a citizen assembly.
The purpose of this petition is to show Lethbridge City Council that it's not just a handful of people who want a ward system. That there are many of us, and we're tired of their hanging on to the current system because it's the system that elected them.
