Indiana University Purdue University - Indianapolis (IUPUI) has decided to abandon individual schools' opportunities to recognize students at a Graduation. In past years, IUPUI would hold one Commencement and then allow each school their own Graduation to acknowledge every student. Now, instead, they are not funding the individual celebrations in addition to not listing any names or even letting students walk the stage at the main Commencement. The University has said they are leaving the option to hold a separate ceremony to individually recognize students at the discretion of each school within IUPUI.

Consequently, this has left the schools financially responsible for having their own ceremonies. However, most schools dedicated their funding to student aid and scholarships and were not given the time to save for such an event. This has left small schools like IUPUI's School of Liberal Arts, Education, Social Work, and others unable to afford a graduation event recognizing individual students' hard work and accomplishments. But the more fiscally lucrative schools like the School of Science and Kelley School of Business have already arranged for ceremonies at Indianapolis' Convention Center on May 15th, leaving the rest without.

Please sign this petition to support IUPUI moving back to Graduation traditions, celebrating ALL of their students individually.
